Made up truth - Online exhibition
Made up Truth is an exhibition of the works created within the framework of Contemporary Art Residence "Tbilisi" II / 2021, which brings together fourteen artists working in various media. The presented artists are active members of the Georgian art scene of the 10s and the 20s of the 21st century, with dynamic art practice and experience of participation in topical art projects.

A contemporary artist offers the society an "artistic solution" of up-to-date existential, political or social problems. This function of the artist became even more complex in the times of digital technologies, when the existence in several realities has become possible. The global pandemic has finally proven the need of the ability to navigate Virtual, Augmented or Mixed realities.
However, the tendencies of alienation from so-called physical reality we know the best appeared even before the pandemic. The not-so-short history of the undesirable use of limitless possibilities of digital communication created a situation when against the background of artificial, fictional realities, the physical reality turned out to be the most fictional.

The original exhibition venue was the Tbilisi History Museum’s contemporary art gallery, however as a consequence of another wave of global pandemics in Georgia, the project has moved to a digital platform.

The works created during the residency relate to contemporary philosophical and sociocultural issues. By employing the language of art the project seeks to touch the attitudes outlined within various socio-cultural discourses. It also tries to look for new ways of displaying art in digital space. The exhibition is presented in the format of a video game, which in its turn offers a viewer a new mode of perception of the work.
