A PLM helps people with rapidly extracting information, internalizing frequently occurring patterns, and automaticity (e.g., when you drive home, without really needing to think how you are driving the car). PLMs are not about memorizing facts. Explicit rules can be given, but are not necessary. Learning occurs as a result of a rapid cycle of testing and feedback.
