Towards the Light - Prototype
Created by Josh, Kai and John
To play, hold down left mouse button to move the joystick.
So far, we have added the player, the enemies, the collectable and the red light. As the red light is the light which kills the enemies, in this prototype, you will see once the enemies come close to the player, they will be killed. The as this is a maze game, we wanted it to be in complete darkness and for the only light to be shown will be coming from the player. We have also created the design of the walls for the game.
There is still a lot to do as we want to make it so the player does not have the red light all the time and have it so they can use it for a limited time before it has to recharge, when the player is not using the red light, they will have a white light which does nothing to the enemies but allows the player to see. The red light is going to be available to turn on by clicking a button on the UI which will change the light. At the end of our level, we plan to have a light that automatically turns on when the player finishes the level which kills all the enemies in that level. We need to design the look of the player as well as the enemies and the coins. We need to make multiple levels with exits so the player is able to escape and go onto the next level. We are planning to add safe rooms in the game also, which gives the player a chance to plan their next move or to help them if the enemies get to close and their red light is recharging. This is what we are hoping to achieve at the deadline.
