How it incorporates the theme : "Money". You saved all the cash you earn during the pursuit and can be used to upgrade yourself after accidentally dying in the pursuit.

RetroCity Storyline Summary:
Set in the year 2049, in a CyberCity. You found yourself in the middle of a city, You explore and walk around the city to find a random stranger standing just outside a diner. There you spoke to her and she introduce to you a mysterious device that brings you into a virtual space where you are in a futuristic car being chased by cops. In that world your vehicle is near destroyed and you were unable to escape and was captured by the cops. After awakening up from the game world you find yourself in a basement walking out of a human pod, a little further up you saw a system with the ability to upgrade your stats in the game world and you curiously went ahead and upgraded yourself a few time. Walking along after interacting with the strange system you left the basement to find yourself restarted in the game. You go ahead and reattempted the game and noticed that your stats that you have upgraded remain meanwhile everything in the world has been the same you felt you had just been through a "Deja Vu" experience.
